Approximately close to forty percent of logged trees are used in the production of paper, for production of one ton of paper, close to four tons of trees are destroyed, on an average each tree provides only nine percent of fiber.

Manufacturing papers requires huge inputs of water, energy and chemicals. The timber plantations uses a high dosage of fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides, which results in not providing the same ecosystem as the natural forests, and forcing in displacing the local animal species and manipulating the natural ecosystem and destroys the forest.

Well reducing the usage of paper or substituting the alternative papers could actually reduce the impact on the environment. There are so many ways to reduce the consumption of paper.

Most of the paper is consumed for commercial purposes, reducing the paper consumption for the purposes of conferences, meetings, at least save certain percentage of paper usage, reducing in paper purchases; it also decreases the filling of cabinets, and reduces the postage costs.
