Where does India stands among other eco-friendly countries
At a time when climate change is a hotly debated topic, it’s time to check which countries are the most environment-friendly. India is ranked at a dismal 123 with a low score of 48.3 on this count. India ranks low on agriculture, pollution control measures and environmental health. Rapid economic growth has taken a toll on India’s environment and natural resources. Switzerland leads the world as the most eco-friendly nation with the best pollution control measures and natural resource management, according to the Environmental Performance Index (EPI), which ranks 163 countries on 25 performance indicators tracked across 25 metrics under ten categories including: environmental health, air quality, water resource management, biodiversity and habitat, forestry, fisheries, agriculture, and climate change. These indicators provide an estimate at a national government scale on how close countries are to established environmental policy goals.

Simple steps to follow Green living…
Religion is a strong instrument. It gives tells you how to do good things, and how not to indulge in the bad. It tells you how to be a good person; it even tells you how to go to “Heaven”. Unfortunately, when it comes to the environment, all its says, at the most, is “Live and Let Live”. No great description, and hence, no great following. So many religions around the world and not one of them advocate’s how to keep the planet clean and safe for everyone to live in true happiness, health and peace. It’s a shame. The following tips or, better still, commandments on green living are not related to any religion, at least directly, yet if followed religiously, the world will indeed be a better place to live in.

Well the quantity of papers which is used these days has increased drastically. Millions of trees are cut down in order to cater the demand. Well a single sheet of paper may contain fibers from hundreds of trees from different parts of the globe. The tree fibers travel a lot to reach the office table. In the country such as India, there is less than ten percent chance of a paper being recycled, and almost all the used paper end up in the landfills. On an average in a normal employee in the India uses approximately twenty Kilos of papers each year. For hundreds of years, papers were considered to be a precious and commodity, which is meager. This day paper is very normal commodity in our life and it is in general taken for granted. Every year, over three hundred million tons of paper is produced globally. India has a huge stake in it, well the country prints, two billion books each year, three hundred fifty million magazines, and twenty five billion magazines annually. On An average, the household in the country receives approximately ninety billion copies of commercial junk mails. Well more than forty percent of the solid waste in the India comes from the paper.
